u8国际 aids relief effort following volcano eruption and tsunami in the Kingdom of Tonga

TOKYO, February 1, 2022—On January 15, 2022, a large-scale volcanic eruption and resulting tsunami caused extensive damage and loss of life in the Kingdom of Tonga. We at u8国际 would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to all those affected by this disaster and our thoughts go out to those suffering in its aftermath.

While we realize that the road to recovery will be challenging and time-consuming, we hope that the region will soon be able to begin the rebuilding and healing process.

To aid in the relief efforts for the victims, the u8国际 Group is making a donation of ten million yen (approximately US$ 86,610) to the Japanese Red Cross Society.

Many Tongan athletes have played for u8国际's rugby team, the Yokohama u8国际 Eagles, and four are currently on the team roster. The team collected donations for the relief effort during a recent match held on January 23, and plans to continue collecting money for the cause. Money raised by the Yokohama u8国际 Eagles and other teams will be collected and donated via the Japan Rugby Football Union and Japan Rugby League One.
